Vienna, VA — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO) has awarded VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. (VMD) a three-year prime contract to provide BlackBerry Wireless Messaging System Operations and Support for its 2,000-plus nationwide BlackBerry users.
VMD, an ISO 9001:2008 certified technology provider, will perform all necessary project management, engineering and technical support functions to ensure continuous operations of the FAA ATO's BlackBerry Wireless Messaging System. Deepti Malhotra, VMD's CEO, stated "VMD is excited to be selected by the FAA ATO to provide support and continued deployment for its vast network of BlackBerry users. Specific implementation activities encompassed under the contract include project management, system engineering and architecture, training, testing, operational support and BlackBerry documentation management and administrative support. Launched in February 2005, the BlackBerry National Program requires the implementation of BlackBerry devices, training, and support for FAA users spread throughout the United States as well as foreign locations.
